
Farm & Forest Day 2025
Join us at Rising Fawn Gardens for our annual Spring Farm & Forest Day on Saturday, April 5th. We welcome you to share in our love for the land and the joy of community. Pack a picnic, relax by the creek, wander our trails and take note of the Trillium, Wild Geranium, Trout Lily, Shooting Star, Bluebells and many more spring ephemerals! We invite you to learn more about our events offered throughout the day and to take part in celebrating nature’s abundance with us.
Event Details
The farm gate will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
$10 per car guest fee (up to 4 people). The proceeds will be donated to Luck’s Rescue in Dade County.
This is a family-friendly and pet-friendly event. If you would like to bring your pet, we kindly request that they remain on a leash while at the farm.
Bring a folding chair for sitting by the creek, a yummy picnic, and your favorite wildflower app or guidebook as you meander and explore along the creek and through the woods.
Check the weather before you arrive and plan accordingly, this event will take place rain or shine.

9:30am Gate opens
9:45 – 10:30am
Yoga in the Retreat House with Jennifer Hobbs & Sarah Beairsto. Start the day with stretching, movement and sun salutations in a gentle yoga session.
10am-12, 1-3pm
Walk with GA Botanical Society. Limited to 10 participants. Rich Reaves will lead a two stage walk between the mountain and the creek to view the many spring ephemerals.
11am-12
Oak Moon Botanicals walk with Amanda & Derik. Limited to 20 participants. Amanda G. and Derik Verkest of Oak Moon Botanicals will lead a Plant and Ecosystem Walk focused on the plants of early spring and how to build relationships with them, as well as an ecological history of the land of Rising Fawn Gardens.
12pm-1pm
Lunch & chat with Mike Heneghan of the GA/AL Land Trust. Mike will lead a discussion on land conservation and its crucial role in the ongoing mission of Rising Fawn Gardens.
1-2:30pm
Intro to Forest Bathing with María Gonzalez ANFT Guide. Limited to 16 participants. Join María Gonzalez on a short, slow, sensory introduction to forest bathing to explore the vitality of springtime’s great unfurling. Participants are welcome to bring a water bottle, a camping chair or a blanket to sit on for your comfort outside.
